1. Increased number of visa-free countries : The number of countries eligible for visa-free entry has increased from 57 to 93. This now includes countries like Albania, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Belgium, and many more.
2. Extended stay period: The visa-free stay period has been extended from 30 days to 60 days, giving travelers more time to enjoy what Thailand has to offer.
🔹 Visa on Arrival (VOA) (TR-15)
Expanded eligibility: The list of countries eligible for a Visa on Arrival has grown from 19 to 31.
Nationals of these countries can apply for a visa upon arrival in Thailand, which will be valid for 15 days.
🔹 Long-Term Visa for Remote Workers and Students
New five-year visa: A new five-year visa is available for digital nomads, remote workers, freelancers, and those interested in learning Muay Thai or Thai cuisine.
This visa allows stays of up to 180 days, with the possibility of a 180-day extension.
🔹 Extended Stay for Foreign Graduates
Post-graduation employment: Foreign university graduates can now stay in Thailand for one year after graduation to find employment.
Visa Exemption (TR-60) and Visa on Arrival (VOA) Countries
For Visa Exemption (TR-60), a comprehensive list of the 93 visa-free countries is available on the Department of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

Changes Effective in September 2024
- Increased e-Visa Application Services: The number of locations offering e-visa application services will increase from 47 to 94 embassies and consulates-general.
- Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) System: From 2025, tourists exempted from visas will need to obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before traveling to Thailand.
